Steampunk...

I cannot find one of my skecthbooks which hold my sketches pages for this project, i just have a photo for the final one. I think this project is a bit hard to me, because I am not fully understand what is a steampunk style = =!

Dinosaur

For this project, I was a bit lost because I was not doing great on class attendance for dinosaur, but I still make it out! It is a bit ugly and not smooth, but I can doing it great in mudbox! 

I got some problem in it, the mirror tool would not work when I want to scale it, only the mirror part can be scaled not the main half part, and I still cannot find the problem xD.

STARSHIP

This project is much easy than dinosaur! Because all the rotate parts are almost same.

This down part is a bit dogleg xD...

frog creature

This kind of frogs are horned frogs, I think the triangle above their eyes is super cool! And if use it to design creature will be more interesting.

At first, i done some of the sketches of these frogs, and I try to get a stand creature pose to drew, that is what happened on the right top side, but it is a bit dull... I think I can design a Thief class frog whatever in game or anime xD, and I get it without colour, the reason why I would not paint colour is I tired but it seems gross xD so I just keep this good sketch.

Well, actually, I do not really remember what exactly going on on that class xD, I just remember we draw a mud ball over and over again xD.

lava monster

For this project, I would say I love this project, the lava is always awesome in digital painting, frankly I am not good at lava stuffs, because I do not know how to drew it good around the light part, it should be dark than other, but it will take a long time to do that, however this time I know I can use the layer style to simply done what I tried so hard before. 

I was trying to get some sketches done , but even myself, I cannot get some good ideas from these sketches.

So i just drew it straight out, not bad, at least I got the skill to drew lava fast.

Well, this is a fun project, I finally know how they done these kind of image for games xD, and it is also easy to anime it.

Din from mudbox

This part is super great! I really want to have more mudbox classes! xD, at first I just ignore what teacher said, I did not to search for reference and make it with my own thought, and 10mins after, I cannot continue anymore xD! The reference is really important in mudbox model, especially when you doing something does or did in real world, we have to get some references unless you are the pro.

Colouring it and scale it are the best parts I was doing, it is much more free style than maya and also can do the same good paint as photoshop do.

Well, to be honest, I have been watching FengZhu's videos for two years, every tutorial I watched no less than twice, I can tell he is the guy who inspire me the most. This one I used his line drawing, To paint this is not too many steps, first give the black and white value, , then I just simply add texture on it xD, over and over again, then check the colour's value in black and white view, this one I did is not good, because I am not good at monster but machine.

muscle guy, well the refences almost the same, and I cannot find two of the muscles on the brief xD......
